Missing COBOL edits                                               Page 1


          The updates provided with Patch set   4  do  not  contain  two
          published  edits  to  the COBOL-20-V12B product.  Edit 1320 to
          the COBOL compiler was  published  in  the  1-DEC-81  Software
          Dispatch and edit 1007 to LIBOL was published in the 15-JUL-82
          Software Dispatch.

          As described in  the  Dispatch  article  for  edit  1320,  the
          installation of the patch is not recommended unless you have a
          requirement for strict  adherence  to  the  COBOL-68  standard
          regarding  the  maximum  and current number of OCCURS during a
          MOVE.

          Edit 1007 enables non-simultaneous read-only access to a  file
          which  has  been  opened for simultaneous update.  The feature
          which is enabled by the patch requires new functionality which
          is  available  with  the TOPS-20-V5 monitor.  This edit may be
          included in a future Autopatch release.  If a V5 site requires
          this  edit  they  should  apply it manually.  Continued use of
          Autopatch  requires  that  a  'pure'  last  release  file   be
          available   to   the  update  process.   Refer  to  the  SOUPR
          documentation regarding the application of local edits.
