1.0 SUMMARY
MAILER is a privileged system program which, in cooperation with MAIL,
delivers messages to users. MAILER ordinarily runs under SYSJOB.
MAILER version 4(6) runs only on Release 4 of TOPS-20.
MAILER depends on the program MAIL 4(6) and the privileged system
program INFO 4(6). Messages delivered by MAILER are read by the
program RDMAIL.
MAILER is not formally documented.

4.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 Files Needed to Run MAILER
MAILER consists of one file, MAILER.EXE.
4.2 Instructions for Loading and Installing MAILER
Mount the tape labeled Distribution Tape on MTA0: and type the
following commands:
R DUMPER
TAPE MTA0:
REWIND
DENSITY 1600-BPI
SKIP 2
RESTORE <*>MAILER.EXE (TO) SYS:*.*.-1
REWIND

In addition, the following files must be in SYS:
MACSYM.UNV
MONSYM.UNV
4.4 Instructions for Building MAILER
Mount the tape labeled Distribution Tape on MTA0: and type the
following commands:

REWIND
DENSITY 1600-BPI
SKIP 3
RESTORE <*>*.*.* (TO) <self>*.*.*
REWIND
^C
SUBMIT MAILER.CTL/TIME/UNIQ:0/REST
4.5 Special Considerations
MAILER requires that INFO be running. Also, MAILER will not deliver
MAIL to any directory which does not have a MAIL.TXT file already in
existence or in a directory that is over quota.
